The cover completely detached from the glued spine, the pages cracked open in dead center, and the book is now in two pieces that are barely held together. Augustine’s magnificent phrase, ‘an earthly being, but one fit for heaven. The description of feeling the absence of one's mother by Davis in the opening pages was so compelling and lovely that I knew I had to buy this book. Plus, each card has nice drawing, and easy-understanding examples. The standard harcover edition of the concluding volume of The Lord of the Rings includes a large format fold-out map and extensive appendices. As he talked about his various works, Katrina Hates the Dead caught my eye.
